The life

August 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Well I just got an iPhone, and I love it! I’m even writing this post on it. Lauren and made an amazing grilled red snapper and grilled corn dinner. We then made peanut butter, banana , chocolate smoothies. To top it off we had packages from Pottery Barn waiting on our porch. Classes started today and I’m taking Intro to Robotics and Database Management, and I’m actually really looking forward to both classes. Life is great and I feel like Rev. Run.

I’ll tell you what’s not bad

August 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments

So far this has been an awesome weekend.  On Friday, I changed digitalbc.net’s hosts and now have Gmail handling all the e-mail (http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/index.html , thanks Brad).  I can already tell that it has made more efficient, and I can now truly send email from my trustworthy (albeit, non-spectacular) Samsung D-807.

Friday night, Lauren and I watched the Opening Ceremonies.  WOW! Did you freaking see the drummers?

Beijing Olympic Drummers

Did you see the people running around the sphere?  Did you freak out when Li Ning flew up to the top of Birdnest stadium, and looked like he almost fell?  I’m keeping that on my DVR, and I just can’t imagine how it must have been to see all that in person.  Fireworks will never be the same, it looked as if the Birdnest was exploding.  I also couldn’t believe that they had fireworks explode into footprints march through the entire city all the way to the stadium!  I’m all kinds of wrapped up in Chinese culture now, and would love to go there.  How can you not want want to see the Forbidden city?

As for the rest of the weekend, Lauren and I have just been relaxing, and enjoying the house.  Saturday was a bumming day, we sat on our front porch, because the weather was/is EPIC!  As a matter of fact I’m writing this post on my front porch *with a tablet PC), hearing nothing but nature. Lauren made some killer peach/apricot/banana smoothies, and we made some amazing tacos for dinner.   I’m a pretty happy guy right now.

It’s just a Tuesday

July 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Well things are calming down a slight bit and getting more organized. Lauren and I still have tons of stuff to do at the house, but this 3 day weekend should really help out. Sleeping and getting shit done are the highest of priorities. I’ve got a lot to learn about yardwork and housework, but it actually sounds kind of fun. I’m one of those guys now who LOVES tools, and I can’t wait to get the garage in order so that I can turn it into decent work area, and get one of these tool chests WOW!
Tool Box This thing has a refrigerator and cd player!!

And thanks to the magic of Flock I can share even more info. I just saw these deals over at AmazonMP3.com so head over there and get some good cheap music that you can toss onto anything!

Flock Me

June 24th, 2008 · No Comments

So I just installed the Flock browser (I’m rocking 1.2, but I think I’m going to test out the 2.0 Beta built on Firefox 3) . Flock is basically Firefox, but customized like crazy for people who have Facebook, flickr, twitter, delicious, Wordpress, gmail, livejournal, youtube, etc etc etc accounts.  It lets you get at those services quickly and easily.  If you use 2 or more of those types of services, give it a spin.  If you are using Internet Explorer, just stop and go get it now or turn off your computer.

Ok enough browser nerditity.  I really am going to try and get back on a regular blogging schedule including Song and Video of the day, since I’ve heard and seen a lot of good media lately I need to share.  The house is still coming along, many boxes to unpack, and much organizing still to be done.  I feel like I’ve just been uber busy, and can’t wait to have things settled.  I started Calculus 2 for Engineers this summer at UGA, and it’s eh. I really like Calculus, but something about hiking to it across campus EVERY day makes it less fun.  I’ve been going to the dentist a lot lately, just catching up on my last 10 years that I haven’t been. So that’s been a treat.  Yesterday however I got to finally mow my lawn, something I have actually been looking forward to.  It felt nice.  I know it a few months, it will become a chore, but maybe not.  I’ve always enjoyed it once I got going, it’s good solid work and the smell of fresh cut grass is the best!  I need to get work on my compost pile in my woods, so that I can possibly have a garden sometime.  We got our blinds, and that looks like it will take a good solid day to install all of them, really looking forward to that.

Just a quick weekend re-cap I went and saw Less Than Jake at the Masquerade in Atlanta with Sean, Rick, Neal, and Brad, and I have to say it was a damn good time.

We really want to try to have a more frequent guy tradition ,  so hopefully something like that will stick to us just like super glue.  Lauren and I also attended Rick and Lacy’s engagement party, and it was another good time. The food was from Provino’s and was AMAZING. Best garlic rolls ever.  So congrats go out to them.

A few quick tidbits I recently purchased some Yogi Goji Berry Green Team and it’s pretty awesome, and I suggest that everyone try it. I also got the new Apple Keyboard, for my Windows computer (sad I know), but I’ve been using one at work, and I love it.  For some reason I really feel more productive when I type on it.  Well it’s time to wrap this scatter brain post up (blogged straight from Flock).

Catch up

June 11th, 2008 · No Comments

So it’s been quite awhile since I hit this blog up, that’s because Lauren and I are proud home owners!! We couldn’t be happier about the house.  For a first house, I think it’s quite awesome.  The commute to work is now 20-25 minutes, which is nothing and there is ZERO traffic, so its actually kind of nice to zip down a scenic country road, and listening to a podcast, or the new Weezer.  We still have tons of boxes to unpack, and that sounds like the last thing I want to do. I would much rather play in the yard, sit on the porch, grill something, or watch the new 42″ HD goodness :)  I do have to say the kitch looks killer, the bathrooms are coming along, and so is the master.  Upstairs……. ugh. I feel like I need a few kick ass book shelves and some new desks.  Other then that, live has been pretty rad (except for summer calculus 2). I’m going to keep this post short, and just ease back into everything I missed.  I’ve learned a lot of things, since the last real post, and I’ve heard a lot of good info. I hope to bestow this knowledge on everyone.

The house is almost ours!  I can’t wait to move in to get all this phone calls and stress out of the way.  I just want to set up, organize and relax!  Here is the latest pic:

Once all this is done, I’m ready to start working out, grilling out, and just getting more accomplished.  Oh yeah and tons more blogging.

Computer theory makes me sleepy

May 5th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m currently in the library studying for my computer theory final tomorrow, and I just read this sentence from my book:

“A decision problem P is many-to-one reducible to a problem Q if there is a transformation of problem instances of P into instances of the Q that preserves the affirmative and negative answers.”

Yeah, the whole book is like this, nice and abstract as fuck!  Almost done………
